Program Notes


This piece turns words into music by means of a simple synthesizer that I programmed in Max/MSP. As the computer player types the words, each letter triggers a sound; punctuation and spaces change the settings of the synthesizer. The instrumentalist improvises their part, interacting with the electronic sounds and expressing the chosen text as best they can.
