From conception to death, we human beings swim in an ocean of time. We know it by the ticking of the clock, the cycle of the earth, by seasons of life and nature that sometimes rush past us and sometimes linger in the midday sun. We may choose to float upon its undulations or paddle towards an unseen shore, but in its depths the current of time flows continuously, carrying us along on its surface until we sink beneath its waves.
