The Highland East Jr. High 8th Grade band will premiere Jacob Frost’s new piece, Unsupervised, at their spring concert this April. The piece was commissioned by University of Oklahoma doctoral student Leonor Javier as part of an outreach project for Dr. Zoe Sherinian’s Music and Social Justice course. The project also involved a collaboration with Dr. Shanti Simon and the University of Oklahoma Wind Symphony in which the Highland East students were able to rehearse with the Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr. Simon and Prof. Brian Britt.

Unsupervised will be premiered at the Highland East Jr. High 8th Grade Band’s spring concert on April 6, 2020, 6:30 PM at the Moore High School Fine Arts Center Auditorium.
